About Us

The Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller (GRT) community has long faced unique challenges, particularly in the context of domestic violence. Due to cultural, social, and economic barriers, GRT women often find themselves isolated and without access to the support they need to escape abusive relationships. Stigma, a lack of understanding from mainstream services, and a deep-rooted sense of cultural identity and community ties can prevent these women from seeking help.

Recognizing this critical gap in support, we have established a dedicated fund “ kickstart fund”  aimed at providing emergency financial assistance, and tailored services to Gypsy and Traveller & roma women who are fleeing domestic violence. Our goal is to offer immediate financial relief and long-term support to women who are facing the dual challenges of domestic abuse and the barriers specific to their cultural background.
